Iranian Forces State Assault on American Facility in Bahrain, Amid Widespread Counterattacks.
Iran's military claims to have hit a American military facility in Bahrain, as the country executed missile attacks throughout the Middle East in retaliation for a "massive" and ongoing assault against it by the United States and Israeli forces.
Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an zone close to the headquarters of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The full scale of any destruction is uncertain and the United States has not commented.
Regional Interceptions
Elsewhere across the region, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar and Kuwait - each hosting US military bases - stated they have intercepted missiles in their airspace.
In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence announced it had successfully engaged several missiles apparently targeting the al-Udeid air base, the largest American base in the region.
Operation "Truthful Promise 4"
Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) declared it was attacking American facilities and interests as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the offensive on Iran carried out by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday morning.
That preceding assault - launched at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far struck locations associated with the the regime, with President Trump encouraging the people of Iran to rise up against the government.
Wider Impacts
In the State of Israel, air raid sirens sounded nationwide after the Israeli military reported it had identified an incoming Iranian missile barrage.
The Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates announced that the nation has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"UAE air defence systems engaged the projectiles with high efficiency and shot down a several projectiles," it added.
Officials reported debris landed in a residential area in the capital, causing some property damage and the death of one civilian.
The US Air Force operates from Al Dhafra Air Base, to the south of the Emirati capital, along with the Emirati Air Force.
