Gus Atkinson increased England's injury problems after leaving the playing area during Saturday's play in the Melbourne Test against Australia.
Atkinson pulled up with his left hamstring after the final ball in his spell during the morning session.
The England team stated Atkinson reported "discomfort" and would spend time off the field for further assessment "over the next few hours".
The final Test of the series at the SCG begins this coming Sunday.
