Soccer Expert Chris Sutton Takes On Artist Murs in Premier League Predictions
Arsenal's 10-game victorious streak came to an end by the Black Cats before the global hiatus, however can the Premier League frontrunners recover against north London rivals Tottenham this weekend?
"{I feel like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a plan for this game," stated soccer specialist Chris Sutton.
"The Spurs manager will try to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating best this season - but Mikel Arteta's side usually still manage to win."
Sutton is making predictions for all 380 Premier League games this season, against AI, fans and a range of special visitors.
In week 12, he faces singer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United supporter.
The singer's new album, the new release, is available on Friday.
Soccer and Parenting Experiences
Olly is a skilled footballer as well as a successful singer and has been a star of several Soccer Aid matches down the years - but he is not planning a professional return as a footballer.
"{I actually played in a benefit game the other evening for a friend of mine," he explained. "The side was trailing 3-1 when I came off in the 60th minute, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you want!
"I still love football, but I injured my knee a few years ago and it still hasn't fully recovered. I hope I could play more but the uncertainty of the game means it's too dangerous for me in my profession to do it seriously again.
"Additionally I am forty-one now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am preparing for the moment that my daughter or son decides to play instead."
The singer and his wife Amelia Tank have a young family, their daughter and Albert, and he is ready to follow in his father's footsteps by taking on the role of their coach.
"I will not push football on our kids but I've already told Amelia that if they do get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will likely be coaching their weekend soccer side," he said.
"I observed my nephews play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I obviously was involved with a soccer team for a period too.
"My father coached with us when I was a child, which is likely where I get it from. He managed our side for two or three years and had a wonderful time with it. That could be the future for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"
Top Division Predictions
Saturday, 22 November
- Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT
The Blues may have to be patient for their star's return from fitness issues but their attack is now stronger with Pedro and Liam Delap both back fit.
I still think this game will be quite tight, however. Burnley are well organised and their only at Turf Moor losses so far have been against the Reds and Arsenal.
It suggests a one-all draw to me, but I am actually going to go with the London side to edge it for what would be their third Premier League win in a row.
The expert's prediction: 1-2
Olly's prediction: Chelsea will be superior. 1-3
Artificial intelligence's prediction: 0-2
- Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT
Bournemouth have been defeated in their previous couple matches - albeit both of them were away - but they got thoroughly beaten by Villa last time out which surprised me.
In contrast, the Hammers secured two in a row before the international break and, although both of those games were at their stadium, they do look competitive again.
The Hammers' sole on the road victory this season came at Forest in the summer, when West Ham manager Nuno was previously Forest coach.
So, what on earth do I predict here - will it be West Ham extending their streak under Nuno, or Bournemouth responding?
I will go with Bournemouth, because I believe what occurred against Villa was a blip.
The pundit's forecast: 2-0
The guest's outlook: The home team are doing well but West Ham have improved under their boss. 2-2
AI's pick: 1-1
- Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Bees were seen as one of the frontrunners for relegation before the campaign began, but they have impressed a several people under their manager and are in good form with three wins in their last four games.
My son advised me to select Brentford forward Igor Thiago in my fantasy soccer squad a few weeks back and, unfortunately, I didn't listen.
Thiago will probably score again on the weekend but I am nonetheless not going to select him or back the away side at Brighton's ground.
They have not had much success on the travel this term, and Brighton are always strong at their stadium. Brentford will attempt to attack on the break but I think Fabian Hurzeler's side pose much more of a danger.
The analyst's forecast: 2-1
The singer's prediction: This could be one of those games where you expect there is going to be a many goals but it actually turns out to be quite close. 1-1
AI's outcome: 2-1
- Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT
It is a huge fixture for the Cottagers, who have suffered defeat in five of their past six games.
They have have plenty of quality in their squad but it still seems like they could be sucked into a drop zone fight.
Regarding the Black Cats, indeed they are the surprise package of the top flight campaign so far.
Their display in the 2-2 tie with Arsenal last time out was superb. We have not seen anyone else disrupt the North London side like that this term, and Sunderland were fully competitive for them.
The logical choice would be to support the visitors here, because they are obviously capable of roughing Fulham up too and, the last time they were in this part of London, they beat the Blues at the close of October.
However I am not going to do that. Rather, I truly need to continue opposing Sunderland with my forecasts. I am claiming a lot of responsibility for their positive outcomes because they clearly love to defy my predictions.
Considering the home side's home form, the only team they have lost to is the league leaders. Marco Silva's team will be absolutely desperate for a good result, so I am going to say they will secure three much-needed points.
The expert's prediction: 1-0
The guest's prediction: I know Sunderland are performing strongly and also that the hosts are on a poor run... but Fulham have nonetheless been decent at Craven Cottage this campaign. 2-0
AI's outlook: 2-0
- Anfield, 15:00 GMT
It is a tough one to predict. The Reds have suffered seven of their past 10 games in every tournament, but might they be one of the teams who profit from the {international break|
